LECTURE
The circulatory system (or cardiovascular system) consists of the heart and vessels (arteries, veins, capillaries). The heart is a hollow muscular organ, shaped like a three-sided pyramid, punched in size and weighing about 250 grams, located in the thoracic cavity between the lungs and functioning as a "mixed" suction and extrusion pump to regulate blood circulation. The purpose of the circulatory system is to transport blood to the tissues. Blood, oxygen, nutrients, hormones, immune cells, etc. are carried through the blood to the tissues, and waste is removed from them.

By the general term cardio-respiratory or aerobic exercise or cardio we mean any physical activity and / or kinetic activity in which rhythmic and repetitive movements, usually of low or medium intensity, are performed for an extended period of time with large muscle groups. Cardiopulmonary / aerobic exercises accelerate breathing, heartbeat, oxygen uptake and blood circulation, and bring about cardiopulmonary adaptations that result in increased cardiopulmonary resistance. Cardiopulmonary endurance is generally defined as the body's ability to withstand fatigue in long-term physical / athletic activities, at a relatively moderate to high intensity.
A good level of cardiopulmonary resistance:
A good level of cardiopulmonary resistance:
- It is necessary to meet various requirements of daily living (functional performance), especially when it involves many physical activities or sports and physical activity activities.
- Allows to maintain a selected volume for as long as possible.
- It minimizes the tension losses that occur with fatigue.
- Helps the body recover faster after strenuous physical effort.
- It promotes the health and functional performance of the body, in particular the circulatory and respiratory system.
