3.1. INTRODUCTION TO STRENGTH TRAINING

LECTURE Aim: The purpose of this module is to gain knowledge about strength training and to understand its basic concepts. Also get to know the types of exercises and the key strength training tools used in personal training. Learning Outcomes: By completing the lesson you will be able to more easily understand the terminology of strength training and know the basics about the equipment used. Strength training at the level of leisure (fitness and wellness) differs significantly from both athletic training and bodybuilding, which focuses primarily on muscle hypertrophy. Typical fitness programs used in fitness are primarily aimed at increasing strength, especially muscle endurance (strength), and much less muscle hypertrophy. Strength training also improves maximum strength, while "maximum strength" training does not. Sometimes "strength training" is the only option the personal trainer has when training a person outside the gym, especially when the equipment available is meager, and when training small groups, rotation training is the most common way of approach.
