INTRODUCTION

Pilates exercises, whether practiced in the MAT with resistance to body weight (or the use of props) or in one of the traditional Pilates equipment (apparatus), such as e.g. Reformer, Cadillac, Wunda Chair, etc., with additional resistance, follow the basic principles of the method and have similar goals. The degree of difficulty with providing the additional resistance, e.g. with the springs, changes with the use of the equipment, and the purpose/goal of the person/persons you train leads you to use one or more apparatus to perform each exercise.
